Safety and Offshore Related Products
1983 - 1999
With the arrival of Offshore Oil Exploration on Canad's East Coast in the early 1980's, markets opened up for a variety of safety related products. Small vessels developed for service in the North Sea play were the best suited to the extreme conditions found in the North Atlantic conditions prevalent off Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Licensing agreements with established UK and European companies provided access to the operators responsible for the support roles requiring these craft. Canadianization was required to meet stringent Canadian Department of Transport and Provincial Petroleum Board requirements. These sophistocated small craft also meet the needs of Government operators who have bought them in significant numbers over the years.
