Why DataShip exists

Because the hardest problems rarely belong to one platform.

Across 15 years in aerospace and defense, automotive, retail and telecommunications, Benjamin worked inside complex supply chains where operational performance depended on data quality, system handoffs and disciplined execution. His data engineering background made the recurring problem clear: software can be working exactly as designed while the operation around it remains fragmented, manual and difficult to trust.

DataShip was created to close that gap. We trace the complete business flow, identify which system owns each decision, simplify unnecessary complexity and build the missing connection or operating layer. The goal is not more technology for its own sake—it is a supply chain customers can understand, operate and grow.

The model is intentionally senior-led. Customers work directly with the person accountable for fit, architecture and delivery instead of being passed from sales to an anonymous implementation queue.

Selected operating experience

Experience from the warehouse floor to the future of mobility.

DataShip brings practical operating context to each engagement: wholesale inventory, automotive parts, predictive maintenance and the supplier-to-customer realities behind growing CPG products.

01TIRE WHOLESALE + DISTRIBUTION

Mad Hatter Muffler & Tire

Benjamin's operating background includes Madd Hatter's tire-wholesale business, where purchasing, high-SKU inventory, warehouse availability and dependable order flow have to stay aligned for shops and customers to get the right product at the right time.

WHOLESALE · INVENTORY · WAREHOUSE FLOW
02AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES + AUTOMOTIVE

Cruise

At Cruise, Benjamin used Fishbowl in support of the automotive parts supply chain and predictive-maintenance planning—connecting expected maintenance demand with parts availability so teams could prepare for service needs instead of reacting after a vehicle or component required attention.

FISHBOWL · PARTS READINESS · PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
03CUSTOM CPG PRODUCT · OPERATING MODEL

Daymark Hydration

A custom electrolyte-powder operating model showing how formulas, ingredient specifications, suppliers, purchase orders, production, lots, expiry dates and channel demand can move through one controlled product and inventory flow.

FORMULAS · LOTS · REPLENISHMENT
04CUSTOM CPG PRODUCT · OPERATING MODEL

Kindred Trail Pet Nutrition

A custom functional-dog-chew concept showing how approved ingredients, contract manufacturing, quality release, finished-goods inventory and retailer or direct-to-consumer orders can stay connected as a brand grows.

SUPPLIERS · QUALITY RELEASE · MULTICHANNEL

Together, these examples span wholesale inventory, automotive parts, predictive maintenance and custom CPG operating models across product, supplier, quality, warehouse and fulfillment workflows.

Melissa Odabash success story

From an expensive 3PL to an operation the brand could own.

DataShip evaluated the systems, selected Fishbowl, helped bring warehouse and fulfillment in-house, and improved inventory, logistics, shipping, customer-service visibility and back-office workflows.

OPTIMIZEDInventory + shipping

“DataShip has made a tremendous difference to our business. By helping us bring our warehouse and fulfillment operation in-house, they have reduced the cost and complexity of relying on an expensive 3PL, helped us ship orders faster and given our team much clearer control of inventory and daily warehouse activity. They took complicated logistics and made them understandable and manageable, while improving the information available to customer service and giving us better insight into our products, orders and customers. We are so grateful for DataShip and the practical, hands-on support they continue to provide.”

When to call DataShip

Bring us the problem everyone has learned to work around.

You do not need to diagnose the solution first. Start with the operational symptom, the systems involved and what the failure is costing the business.

01

Orders stall between systems

Shopify, retailer EDI, Fishbowl or the warehouse no longer agree—and no single screen explains why.

02

Inventory truth is disputed

Fishbowl, a 3PL, marketplaces and finance show different balances, availability or shipment status.

03

The team runs on workarounds

Critical reports, forecasts, allocations and exception queues depend on manual exports and tribal knowledge.

04

Standard connectors stop short

The core platforms work, but category rules, partner requirements or internal processes need a custom operating layer.

05

Growth is exposing process gaps

New channels, locations, products or trading partners are increasing errors faster than the team can absorb them.

06

AI needs an operating boundary

The business wants useful automation without losing approval authority, source ownership, security or auditability.

What clients receive

Concrete delivery—not disappearing expertise.

The exact package follows the scope, but every engagement is designed to leave the customer with clearer ownership, reviewable evidence and an operation the team can support.

DELIVERABLE / 01

Current-state workflow

A shared view of systems, people, transactions, failure points and operational impact.

DELIVERABLE / 02

Two-person leadership

Founder-led. Architect-owned.

Every DataShip engagement is led directly by the Founder and Senior Solution Architect, giving customers visible business and technical accountability without unnecessary management layers.

01 · BENJAMIN BROWN

Founder + Lead Consultant

Benjamin leads the client relationship, supply-chain strategy, platform fit, solution direction, scope and business outcomes. Fishbowl is a core specialization, while every engagement begins with the systems and operating model the customer actually has. He remains directly accountable from assessment through launch and managed improvement.

02 · TECHNICAL OWNER

Senior Solution Architect

The Senior Solution Architect owns system architecture, integrations, AWS and Microsoft deployment patterns, custom applications, data engineering, security design, testing strategy and technical quality.

Specialist integration engineers, data professionals and delivery resources are assigned according to each engagement. They extend the delivery team without being presented as additional executives.

Direct senior access

Customers work with both accountable leaders throughout discovery, design, testing, go-live and managed improvement.

Business + technical ownership

Benjamin owns operational outcomes while the Senior Solution Architect owns technical integrity and delivery quality.

Specialists when required

Focused engineering and data resources are added to match the scope while leadership remains consistent.

How we deliver

Designed to protect the customer and the referral.

01Scope before code

Success measures, ownership, dependencies and exclusions are written before implementation begins.

02Test before cutover

Non-production validation, reconciliation, exception scenarios and rollback steps are part of the plan.

03Document the operation

Architecture, mappings, runbooks and support ownership remain with the customer.

04Stay after launch

Monitoring, managed support and a prioritized improvement backlog protect adoption.
